Are the casts flat or 3D moulds?

The casts are 3D sculptures. These images show the hands and feet of a 4 week old baby and a 5 week old baby.

What ages can I create a mould for?

The moulding powder measurements are suitable to create moulds for children. When creating a mould it is important that the childs hand or foot does not touch the side or bottom of the container so their hand or foot needs to fit comfortably in the container for it to work.

We have been able to comfortably fit a 10 years old child’s hands into our container but we recommend up to 5 years old for hands and up to 6 months for feet, due to the way the feet are placed into the container, for the best results.

The moulding powder measurements do NOT have to be doubled to create an older child’s hand using the existing container. One bag of moulding powder creates one mould, it is simply about fitting the child’s hand into the container.

If you wish to create a foot mould of an older child please email Lisa@keepsakestocherish.com.au as we can provide kits with bigger containers for no extra charge. Using a bigger container requires 2 bags of moulding powder to fill the extra space.

Do you supply frames?

I don't supply frames through my website because of the range and delivery cost to send them. However, if you purchase a kit through Keepsakes To Cherish and wish to display your casts in a frame, I am more than happy to email you instructions on how to create a shadow box frame suitable to display your casts in. It is quite easy to do and it is the exact same method I used when creating a professional life casting.

Do you sell bags of moulding powder and/or casting powder separately if I make a mistake?

I do. They are not listed as products on the website but you can buy extra bags of moulding powder for $2.00 each plus postage by emailing me at Lisa@keepsakestocherish.com.au

Do you have a refund or replacement policy?

Yes, if your DIY kit arrives damaged or not what you expected please email us within 24 hours of receiving your DIY kit and we will sort through any issues you have.
If the product is damaged we will replace it. If it is not what you expected and we agree, then a full refund less postage will be given.
