Advantages to doing it yourself are: - Your child knows you and is happy with you. Creating the initial mould is a new experience. When you throw a stranger holding onto your child’s hands and feet into the mix, it could unsettle your child even more, especially if they are not friendly or accommodating towards your child.
The instructions contain tips on the best ways to get your mould including the best way to hold your child.
You can do it anytime, anywhere without having to wait for your appointment. When you book an appointment you can never be sure what mood your child will be in. If your child is having a bad day and is not interested in co-operating it may make the procedure long, stressful and tiring.
You can decide to do the mould when your child is feeding or sleeping or content enough to let you take a mould. Take the moulds when your child is able to give you the best possible results.
You can also decide which exact day you want your moulds taken without having to work around anyone. So if you want your child’s moulds taken at exactly 6 weeks old then you can do that.
You don’t have to wait for your moulds to be completed. Professional castings include the shadow box frame. It does take some time to complete your creation. DIY means you do the moulds and the casting in your own time and when the casting is dry, it is ready for you to display immediately.
